Winter Fun on Mount Tahtalı, Kemer’s Uludağ

While rainfall affected Antalya’s coastal areas, Mount Tahtalı—one of Kemer’s iconic landmarks—was covered in snow. Rising to 2,365 meters as one of the highest peaks of the Beydağları Mountains, Mount Tahtalı welcomed hundreds of residents from Kemer and nearby districts over the weekend.

Taking advantage of clearer weather, nature lovers headed to the higher elevations of Tahtalı. Reaching the summit in a short time from Kemer town center, visitors experienced winter scenery alongside stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Families played in the snow with their children, young people sledded using sleds and plastic bags, and some visitors built snowmen and captured memorable photos.

Those who lit barbecues and brewed tea in samovars turned Mount Tahtalı into an open-air picnic area.

“This Is Our Uludağ”
Residents of Kemer stated that Mount Tahtalı holds a special place for them:
“When it rains on the coast, we enjoy the snow up here. There’s no need to travel far. Tahtalı is our Uludağ. In winter, it is one of the most special places for people living in Kemer.”

“Sea in Summer, Snow in Winter”
A visitor who came with his family from Kemer said:
“In summer we enjoy the sea in Kemer, and in winter we come up to Tahtalı to enjoy the snow. Experiencing both the sea and snow on the same day is a real privilege.”

With heavy weekend crowds, Mount Tahtalı continues to be a winter gathering point for the people of Kemer.
